So this is an app that I cant use on its own? I cant follow certain websites or people (other than the twelve the app suggests,) I just browse the web as normal, and use a "bookmarklet" to add links to Readability AND THENNNN I switch to the app to read them? Why not just bookmark we pages as normal and use Reader view in Safari, if Im going to be using Safari anyway?
The help website suggests I follow instructions to add a mobile bookmarklet, and includes "The instructions are complicated, but we dont have a way to make it any simpler. We hope youll stick it out and follow them exactly." Yeah, that sounds real promising. Whatever those instructions are, I never got to read them because the page just loads and loads and loads and yet... never loads.
I can only follow other Readability users, wherever they might be. I dont want to read other individuals recommended articles, I want to read my own, from websites Im interested in. I also want to do all of this without a bunch of complicated preliminary steps.
I have a feeling the developers of this service had one particular scenario in mind for their users - the kind of person who wakes up in the morning and has time to sit around and browse the web, but doesnt have time to actually read articles, so they add a few links to readability and then when theyre at "the office" they can read the articles at their leisure on their work computer or their iPad. I dont know how many people actually fit into that scenario, but Im not one of them.
This is yet another garbage app that tries to reinvent the wheel, among the thousands of others that over saturate the App Store. Im sorry I ever gave it a chance.
